The Smurfit Kappa International Graduate Programme is a two-year, intensive programme in which you will be trained to become a leader. The International Graduate Programme is for engineers with an eye for the future
We are looking for engineers who:
- recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering
- have strong leadership skills and/or the desire to develop these on the job
- are interested in learning about, experiencing and improving paper-based packaging
- love traveling to and living in countries around Europe
- who have the ambition to do what it takes to get to high-profile positions
Are you our next operational leader? Smurfit Kappa’s International Graduate Programme is a gateway programme designed to bring engineers with management skills into the places where they are needed the most. Our fully sustainable Paper mills, international warehouses, cutting edge equipment and machinery and operational excellence centres are at your disposal: here you can learn all about the work we do, in order to take on a leading role in the future.
Over a period of two years, you will be working, learning and living in 3 different locations in Europe. Here, you will undertake projects designed to challenge you, covering a range of technical areas such as production, maintenance, equipment, R&D and energy systems. We want you to see how we work, notice potential improvements and implement them as needed.
The International Graduate Programme also offers:
- €2000,- monthly payment (after taxes), accommodation, flight home and other great benefits
- Regular training and teambuilding activities where you will get to talk to, learn from and impress high-level management executives as well as work on your skills and knowledge

We will invite you to answer a couple of challenging questions via our video recruitment tool. This will help us evaluate if you are a good fit for the Programme.

Face-to-face interviews will be held in one of our European locations. These interviews will give you the opportunity to get to know Smurfit Kappa even better, as well as answer all your questions about the Programme.
Show us what you’re made of
A series of online cognitive tests will show us your abilities and mental capacity. Making it through this round means you are in our top ten!
In the final stage of the recruitment process, you will be invited to attend our assessment days. During this 2-day event, you will be joined by the top executives of the European Paper Division, who will assess you on interesting business cases. All candidates will receive personal feedback.
